Amit Shah tweeted on X saying, “In pursuit of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision to build a developed and prosperous Ladakh, the MHA has decided to create five new districts in the union territory. A look at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tweet:
In a post on X, PM Modi announced the establishment of new districts. It was highlighted by him that this initiative is aimed at enhancing governance and boosting regional prosperity. He assured that these districts will receive focused efforts and special attention to guarantee effective development and successful outcomes.
“Creation of five new districts in Ladakh is a step towards better governance and prosperity. Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra, and Changthang will now receive more focused attention, bringing services and opportunities even closer to the people. Congratulations to the people there.” PM Modi shared on X.
Before the announcement of the five new districts, Ladakh was divided into only two districts: Leh and Kargil. This limited structure led to challenges in governance and service delivery. Residents, especially in remote areas, found it hard to access administrative services. The large distances between communities and administrative centers posed challenges. This separation made it difficult to address local needs and hindered efforts to drive economic growth.
With the establishment of Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra, and Changthang as new districts, Ladakh will undergo a major administrative transformation. This decentralization will bring governance closer to residents, making public services more efficient and accessible.
Each district will focus on local needs, allowing for more precise and effective development efforts. This move is set to boost local infrastructure, create job opportunities, and drive economic growth. This initiative represents a significant step forward in governance. It ensures that the benefits of development are more evenly distributed across Ladakh, fostering regional prosperity.
